Back to reality

Oh it is hard coming back from vacation! I keep looking at the photos I took and then close my eyes and pretend I am still there. Current weather here in Indiana is only 17 degrees! I'm cold!! Doesn't seem to be warming up anytime soon and there is a snow storm predicted for Sunday. Over It!!

I have been really busy since arriving home and haven't taken any outfit pics. Well, that is also because I haven't worn anything worth taking a pic! Today I am wearing the all important IU attire in preparation for the game this afternoon. Again, not really photo worthy.

I have to travel to Ohio Sunday for work meetings and will be there until Wednesday. Since I will be with my co workers, I will have to dress decent. This means no sweats and tees! I will be sure to take LOTS of pictures. They are a crazy awesome an wild group of people!

Lots to do for work and to prepare for my trip, so I will leave you with my favorite photo from vacation.

Go Hoosiers!!!

Two guesses

I am on vacation! Aside from
Chicago or Cincinnati, which are really close to us, this is the furthest that we have traveled. We left on Friday and arrived at our first destination on Saturday. Two guesses as to where I am....ok, I'll tell you! We are in sunny Florida!

We have a very full agenda. First stop, my best friends house! We were so excited for this. It's the first time we have visited them since they moved last July. We all went to the beach on Sunday.

Monday, they went with us to the happiest place on earth! That's right, Disney!! This is my first ever visit and it was great! We are worn out, but is was worth it. Not sure who was more excited, me or the boy. I even got my Minnie Mouse ears.

For Tuesday, we slept in and then checked out more of Orlando. After, we are headed to Medieval Times for dinner and a show and then went to Old Town for some go carting!

Hopefully the trip will continue to go well.

Stay tuned for more vacation updates!

Frigid and not too fancy.

It has been absolutely frigid here the last couple of days. Add in high winds, and that pretty much sums up this winter. We are so lucky! We have a weather advisory for freezing rain tonight to boot! Ugh. It's hard to deal with the cold when there is no snow to enjoy. I believe there was enough to sled twice this winter.

My husband is so upset that its cold in the middle of winter, that he now believes this will be the year without summer. Yeah, not really sure how he got to this conclusion, but it may have something to do with the motorcycle currently residing in my basement! That's the downfall of buying a new bike in the winter. You have to wait months to actually use this bike. Kind of sucks for him!

Basement demo continues so I don't have anything fun to post about. Trust me, this demo is anything but fun!! I did get copies of my family pictures that were taken over the summer and I though I would share. It was nice and laid back and more "us". We are not fancy and dressed up so we didn't want to take pictures like that either. Plus, with all the kids involved, there was no point in trying! My son always complains that I am trying to make him look fancy when I brush his hair or make him wear a short with real buttons! He is a little skater/snowboard junkie and fully believes in dressing the part. Clunky shoes and all! That being said, he believes he looks fancy in these photos! We wanted these to be fun photos that caught how we are in real life. Golf clubs, beer and all!

It's been a while...

As construction continues, I have been busy and not had time to write. I work during the day and then help with the basement at night. What went from a simple "replacing the floor" turned into a pretty major basement demo. I am excited, but also really exhausted!! Early mornings and late nights= one grouchy girl!! I can't wait to share the finished product with you!! For now, you will have to settle for a quick outfit photo and a messy basement! This way, you will really really appreciate how it looks when it's done and I can share some of my pain. So far, we have ripped out carpet, taken off baseboards and window trim, added holes in the walls and removed the. Office door to add French doors. Oh, and we insulated the entire basement while we were at it. Last night I primed all the trim and the door. Flooring comes in Wednesday and then we will move on to tile on the projection screen wall. The fun never ends!

Construction zone

The week is on the up and up! The fever is gone!! Boy is feeling better and will be going back to school tomorrow. Yeah!!!!

Now that the house is healthy, it is about to undergo further construction. Yeah, a big shock, I know. Chris decided that he wants to finish the rest of the basement. Just so you know, it has been finished for a while. He wants to "really" finish it. Rip our the junk carpet we installed the first time, put down laminent, put in a real fireplace and not a hanging electric one and put stone around the projector screen we have instead of a TV. Now mind you, we currently have a motorcycle in the basement so it doesn't get cold in the garage. This makes construction a bit tricky! As far as construction goes, I am afraid that we will never stop!! We keep trying to get this place to look like it was supposed to be when we decided to build. Thanks to the builder messing it up and the taking off on us, I worry we will never be happy with it. We shall see!

Because I don't have enough going on as it is, I have been trying to learn to sew. I have got pillows down! I wanted to make a pencil skirt for this summer. Went ok for the first try but I have a long way to go!

For you viewing pleasure.. the motorcycle, the plan for the basement ( designed by Chris) and my skirt.

The sickies have hit!

What we hoped would be a great weekend has taken a run for the worse. The sickies have hit! We spent the afternoon helping a friend unpack. As we are driving home, I looked at boy and saw the eyes. They are always a dead giveaway for the sickies. They get watery and kind of grey. Yup! It is the sickies. Soar throat, slight fever and plenty of congestion. As I took his temp, he proceeded to cough in my face. Awesome!

Chris went to watch IU stomp Michigan while we snuggled and watched Hotel Transylvania. I would rather hide at home anyway during home games. It gets a little wild here. Don't get me wrong, it's nice living in a college town and there is always something going on, but boy does it get crazy!!
Today, I made a trip to Target to get more medicine and see what new things they have that I can't buy( spending freeze). I was getting a little stir crazy, so it was worth it! We then had plans for the family to come watch the game. I warned them of the sickies, but they still came. Boy his in his room so he wouldn't get the little kids sick( his words)I think he enjoyed the quiet. He is an only child and not used to the chaos! All is quite and my house is repaired as they left at halftime. Now to snuggle, make boy feel better and enjoy the commercials. You didn't really think I was watching for the football, did you?

And now I will leave you with some photos. My Friday work look-try not to be jealous of my beauty-, Chris and boy after IU won and he returned home and boy being all pitiful!

Photos of Boy and the cat

I know I promised to have new nice photos of outfits after this weekend. I was detained by a husband that decided painting was in order instead. I would post pictures, but the motorcycle in the basement really takes away from the look. Yes, he really brought the motorcycle into my basement! He didn't want it to get cold in the garage!
That being said, I still wanted to show you some of the great photos that Patty with Autumn Grove Photography took of the boy. Autumn Grove Photography can be found on Facebook, so head on over for a visit! And now, for you viewing pleasure..BOY!
