The gift that keeps on taking.

Sigh...though I love projects, this house has given us many. We have been here for 3 years and have yet to finish painting doors and baseboards. As I posted previously, we went through a bad home building nightmare. Due to this, we had to hire a retired builder to oversee while we did all the work. Floors, painting you name it, we did it. I finally felt like we had our living room complete. That is until we were gifted material for curtains this Christmas. I liked the material and thought it would be fairly neutral. Well, that is not the case! Our colors were red, yellow/gold and turquoise. It looked great! Now that the new curtains are up, the red just doesn't look right. I tried to find a color that would look nice without having to repaint yet again, but was unsuccessful in my hunt. I went back to the fabric store and carried around the bolt of fabric until I found something that would coordinate. I still need to find a solid turquoise fabric or pillows, but it's a start!!
Now I have the task of making pillows and repainting the accent pieces and the mirror. Luckily I still have they yellow/gold and turquoise paints that I used on the wall and lamp. Now if I just had more time....
Stay tuned for the final (I hope) living room reveal!!

I wanted to go ahead and reply to the comment you just left though: It is nice to hear people's voice, it helps you feel like you really know them! I suggest starting out going vegan either with a certain type of food (like just meat, or just dairy) or choosing to go vegan certain days of the week. I read the book Main STreet Vegan and she has a recipe after every chapter and it was really informative! I love it! And then I also bought "The occasional vegetarian" which would be a nice transition cookbook, it points out which recipes are vegan and vegetarian. Those are some good starts! Meatless Meatloaf has been the grossest vegan thing I've tried, but there really are some great recipes out there! Good luck! :)

    Have a great day! :)
